Hey all, first post on this site but I've always been active in the facebook groups/reddit communities. About 4 months ago I picked up a 1993 3.0 V6 Automatic for $2,000 (It has 120k miles). When I came back to the Ford Ranger I knew I wanted something specifically from 1993-1997 because of the bodystyle overall. Didn't care if it was auto, manual, but it also had to be a single cab no matter what. I knew my next build was going to be a lowered daily driver since I had previously done a 2000 model Ranger and made it into a Pre-Runner that used only Camburg and Fox parts. However, I sold that truck before I could complete it fully. Then an opportunity came up to buy my buddies 96 extended cab since he was moving back to Montana and had no choice but to sell it for a low price. It was a 96 2.3L Turbo that needed a lot of work, even the borg warner t5 transmission ended up blowing and needing a rebuild. Overall I loved that truck and put some decent money into it but didn't really need to because it was practically already built, I just scored it for the low price! Ended up selling it to some high school kid who blew the motor up even after it had been resealed and all gaskets replaced. It was bound to happen since he did not know manual well and just wanted to take it out to play ASAP. After a little while off and driving around some really nice 90's Lexus's that I had built I sold them off when all the JDM kids were overhyping the stock 2jz's and 1UZ's and picked up my current truck just to get me through college and be an abused daily. But then inner me knew it would be wise to do maintenance and actually take care of the truck until it blows up so I can throw a 302 in it and call it a day.
