Is there a size difference between the stepside and regular bed?

Actually, can someone list the size of the different beds available?

Thanks

buddy, this is listed in the wrong forum. youll get a better responce if you move to styling and electrical-exterior

Stepside is the same length as the regular, short (6 ft) bed. It is slightly less wide. There is also a long bed (7 ft), not available in step side.

yea my friend turned a fleetside into a step side. bolts are the same as long as its shortbed to begin with.

I guess my main concern is can you fit a 4'x8' sheet of plywood (or whatever) into the bed? - I know it will hang off the end...

on a regular bed, they fit but it'll hit both wheel wells, that's what the notches for 2/6's are for...

Now that's cool. I never saw those before. I guess there's 3, so a 4x8 will ride flat? I like it.

That would be a wide ranger, why would you want to do that ?
I would think the outside of the fenders would be about 3 or 4 inch outside the cab.
Yes you could still carry a 4x8 item, :icon_idea: interesting...
Please let me know your friends reasoning ?

Just asking... :headbang:

I do believe he just swapped beds, not panels. If you want to see a panel swap look for Project Apple Bottom on this site, it's a member who is turning his Ranger into a Dually. He's putting the stepside bedsides onto a fleetside bed.

And to the OP, the only difference in size between a stepside bed and a fleetside/regular bed, is the width of both wheel wells on each side. A stepside has them on the outside of the bed, shrinking the width of the bed while a fleet side has them on the inside allowing the width of the bed to be larger.
