I am building a 1994 ranger up for wheeling. It is a 4.0 v-6 with auto, i was really thinking of swapping a manual in, but with everything else I want to do I might get another auto because mine is dead, and get a nice trans cooler. I am swapping a new 31 spline 8.8 in, it has 4.10's so I am going to regear the dana 35 to 4.10's. Does anyone know of a decent place to get gears, or should I get them used, what about the install kit? I don't want to spend a fortune, and I have buddies who can help me do it right that have done it before. Also with about a stock 4.0 and 4.10's what size tire should I run and still get decent amounts of power, i could care less about ride, noise, gas mileage, its just a wheeler, I want to be able to turn the tires nicely.

With 4.10 gears, 33" tires are about as big as you'd probably want to go.

Check out the TRS Fab page for gears & install kits. :icon_thumby:
