Anyone else ever been sitting at a red light at a four lane intersection and a line of cars or just one comes up behind you and change lanes because they lights getting ready to change and they know your just going to slow them down. but the light changes as they pull up next to you and you pull away from them like they where standing still and they get back behind you.:icon_rofl: i love that :headbang: thats one of my favorite thats to do my truck doesn't look like much but it pulls nice from 0-45mph. i just wish i could see there faces when i pull away from there lexus or mitsu just to name a couple.:icon_surprised:

I have been in that situation. I don't make a conscious effort to get ahead of them, but I am a lead foot, and more than likely I will be going faster than the person next to me.

I have found that many people assume pickups are slow vehicles. Many people REALLY hate to be passed by a pickup.

Today I was going down I-85 when a Seqouia passed me and merged into the lane I was in. He slowed down after that, to a speed that was slower than I wanted to go. So, I got in the left lane to pass. He didn't like that too much and began to speed up. I didn't have the time or patience to be stuck behind him, so I punched it and dusted him. I have never figured out why people think pickups are slow vehicles and insist on being in front of them. If you want to cruise slower than I do, just let me pass and be done with it.

im sure they are super impressed with the "performance" of your 2.3

i dont own any race cars, ergo i dont race. i find it more entertaining when im sitting next to someone at a light and we catch each others eye and give "the nod". then when the light turns green hes off like a bat out of hell and i casually turn right :icon_thumby:

Most people do consider a small pickup to be slow. And I hold them to that belief as I drive at my own pace. Let them be the ones' to wreck their vehicle or get caught by the cop.

What I really don't like is those drivers that are in such a rush. They pass from behind you and then get in front of you, just to make a turn within 50yds. How hard can it be to wait 5 more seconds to make that turn.

As for street racing. My Blazer hid the cop behind, and when two folks decided to go peeling off when the light turned green. Good old blue lights blared around me to catch the racers. They never saw him coming. :headbang:

I'm not gonna lie, Ive raced a few pickups around here. I hardly ever do, but when some dumbass in a S10 or Dakota wants to go, My little 2.3 will impress them just as much as it impresses me. Shift into second at about 25 mph, shift into third at around 40-45mph. She gets right up and goes. Ford makes some Peppy little 4 bangers. And I'll only do that if things are clear, no traffic and good weather. I dont go screaming up to top speed, I just beat them to the posted speed limit.

or the ones that pull out in front of you at a cross road when your the ONLY car coming. heaven forbid they wait till you pass and get out behind you.

i drive fast, thats no great secret. but i drive fast at my own pace. i could give a shit if some civic buzzes by me at high speed at a stop light...im secure in the knowledge that my truck isnt likely to end its days wrapped around a light pole, and my insurance is cheaper than his.

Those I think are the ones that get me the most. I had a guy do that to me as I'm cruising along about 65 and goes 55 (In a big hurry to get in front of me but in a hurry down the road). So I pass him after a bit and he tailgates me at 65 all the way to the next town. So once in town I just drove about 15.
