Man, Bro..don't you hate that when it happens?? When I am in the Ranger I get a lot of stares from people checking out the Ranger and hand waves from other Jeeps and trucks...but the tuner boys like to cut you off and then get ahead of you and then cut in and out of traffic at a high speed, and then at the next light they are right beside you or right in front of you!!! Stupid people!!! All that for what???

I used to say the same thing when I drove 50 miles each way for my old job. One of the guys I worked with was one of those types too. Just about every day he would get upset because no matter how wreckless he drove, I would always pass him, or be within a couple car lengths, when he got off the highway.

My brother-in-law has the new 2011 Focus that is a very nice ride. He drove my Rogue and freaked out on the power band and the quick revs it puts out. Besides...my buddy has a really neat turbo Subaru that has the turbo upgrade. It hits 0-60 in less than 5 seconds. That is honking for a small motor!!!
I stopped street racing a few years back. It got to be way too much traffic and the old places we raced at just got crowded and it was too dangerous to try it any more. I sold my 87 Vette (it was pushing over 600 rwh) and then I sold my 86 Mustang GT that had over 450 rwh and it was a road racer so it was built to handle and had a top end of just over 190. Nobody shut the Stang down.
My Porsche 911S (still my favorite of all) weighed in at 2280 lbs and it had the flat 6 285 rwh motor in it. It was a real German Rally Racer with top speed of 210. No back seat, no a/c just the original race interior and cage that it was built with. It was a German export and you could not buy it in the states. I bought it at MacDill AFB back in '87 from an AF officer who brought it back to the states and could not work on it. I paid $3,000 for it and I fixed the timing and cam issues and kept it for about 6 years and sold it to a vintage racer in Miami for $15,000. I never knew how rare it was until the guy who bought it saw it a Sebring raceway when we were there for a rally and brought a bank roll along with him looking for a rare vintage racer. He said that was what he wanted and his wife was with him and she wanted it too after I let them drive it!! My dad loved to drive that 911S. He was such a motor head.

Dunno what it will be like with the new powertrain, shouldn't be any engine related smoke to outrun at least.

I generally refrain from street racing anyway.

In what? I have had three Vettes and they never were beat by any other car around. Two of my neighbors have ZR1 Vettes and they are incredible...0-60 in 5.7 seconds...so you can do this?? Right.......

Your "neighbors" can't drive for shit then because the ZR-1 can do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.

^Truth, Ranger's aren't quick vehicles by any means, so why would you "race" anybody in one?

He was racing. He was just as young as I was, he knew. I knew the punk well. He chirped the tires on takeoff, I still was ahead for a little while. However he came blowing by shortly after.
