A quick question I just put on four Bridgestone Duelers Revo 2 (P245/75 R16) replacing BF Goodrich P245/75 R16 (109S, MTS Land Terrain) on my FX-4. I always ran my old tires 35 psi front and back.

The Firestone Complete Auto Care salesmen said to run the Revo 2's 35 psi front and back but his installer inflated front tires to 36psi and rears 40 psi. Also I just had my local Coop station fixed a tire leak (screw) on one of the rears and he put in 40psi.

So is the Firestone dealer right or what?

Just put what the door sticker says to put and be done with it.

35's fine, thats what I run and thats what my old shop always put in. The guy that put the odd inflation in it probably had a messed up gauge or did it on different machines. And the other shop probably just had an un calibrated machine. These places don't check their air pressure on the machines to make sure it correct enough.

Since you're running the stock size, that's what I'd do. That said, on my old Ranger with that size I got the best tire wear with 35 f and 30 r. I'd pump up the rears if I knew I was going to put a heavy load in it.

REVO's are great, I had them on my old Sport Trac. Best all-around tire I ever had on a truck. :icon_thumby: Downside, they wore out kinda fast but a Sport Trac is heavier than a Ranger.
