Recommend new exhaust for 98 4.0

I have a 98 4.0. Recently, it developed a hole in the exhaust. I think its in the Y pipe on the passenger side (haven't crawled under to find it yet). The muffler hanger rusted in half a while ago, and when I had the clutch replaced over the summer, the shop that did it broke some of the flanges. I think its time to replace the system and I have a few questions. I would like the engine to be a bit louder. Right now, I actually try to restart the engine at lights sometimes because I think it died since its so quiet. I was thinking headers so I could hear it in the front end, but not be obnoxious sitting at a light. I'm also thinking about getting a slightly bigger pipe, but I have to pass emissions where I live. Will a bigger pipe mess this up? Are there any recommendations on what to get?

Well.. If you want a great sounding exhaust do I what I did. I got 2.5" from the y pipe back (in your scenario get the y pipe fixed or get a jy one), a flowmaster hi flow cat, and flowmaster 40 series muffler. I got the same motor as you and it sounds excellent. The hi flow cat makes the exhaust tone clean and crisp like a muscle car, not gonna get that v8 rumble but still it sounds great. Headers would simply make it even better sounding.

The delta flow is a good choice. It is one of the nice sounding exhausts I have heard.
