Recommend me a bumper

AOR’s bumpers look stout enough at competitive prices. That’s probably the route I’ll go.

Thanks everyone for the ideas
I don't think you can go wrong... easy to work with and fast. When I ordered my bumpers... I had the front bumper in three days. They actually built my rear to order and I had it with in 7 days total.

They get 5 stars from me.

Yeah, it isn't supposed to fit mine but I bet it could be made to.

Easily...

matt dresselhaus used to have iether a kit he would cut out, and ship, you weld it. or for a bit more he would weld it up and ship it to you. its a sweet low profile design. might be a bit more than your wanting tho. i think hes still active on this forum.

Make sure that it has a well built grille guard attached... even with the best bumper all you are going to do is break the deers legs as its body rolls over your new bumper and slams into that nice plastic grille and creams your radiator...

AJ

AOR offers two bolt on guards. I’m not sure which one I like better. The one offers a sweet light option but the other is more conservative.

The AOR bumper has a very heavy duty center box 3/16" with replaceable wings of lesser gauge steel. The wings would bend easily but the center box would probably survive a moose crash. I also think the add on bull bar would outlive the moose too. I like mine and have no regrets about the purchase. If you look on their site you will see the only short coming I can find with it. The bottom of the center box leaves probably 3 inches of the bottom radiator and transmission lines pretty much exposed. I plan on extending the skid plate portion further back to cover that area.

They offer a skid plate that complements the lines of the bumper. Listen to me. I sound like a sales rep for the company. You can’t tell that I’ve been doing some research on the subject. LOL

I'm thinking that must have just came out.... I better go have a look and check it out.

Well… look at that.

That wasn't offered when I bought my bumper... or I would have bought it also. I told you that was the only shortfall I seen with the bumper... and now they offer a solution.

They also have tube front bumper wings... that is also new.

I really like these guys... they said they were working on a tire carrier for their rear bumper also when I bought mine. Maybe they will come up with some sliders too.

I would be greatly interested in a hinged rear bumper tire carrier. Preferably with an option for a jerry can rack as well. So may upgrades to buy and so little money to do it...

I have all the pieces to put my carrier together... so I've spent the money... I haven't had time!

I know next to nothing about welding and wouldn't want a project like this to be something to do as a greenhorn. A basic, off road bumper with a lot of angle grinder work to fix the mistakes, maybe but a hinged tire carrier, cantilevered at a critical point on a bumper and properly locating a latch on the other side? Yeah, no. I'd rather buy a ready built product.

The Ironbull bumpers look nice and solid, though expensive.

Have an experienced fabricator build you a baja style tubular bumper with an aluminum skid. I’ve seen one on a truck like mine turn a buck into road patties firsthand. Most off the shelf bumpers aren’t going to cut it.

This is mine, a hoop above the bumper would help to deflect smaller debris but the skid helps push larger obstacles down and under the truck instead of pushing it up and over. I know they’re more popular out west as far as looks go, but when done right they work awesome

You talking about this one?

If anyone is looking for a rear bumper... AOR will upgrade to 3/16" steel from the one they have listed on their site. I think it was a $30 upgrade. It is built well IMHO.

Can you post a link to these rear bumpers please ?
