How diffucult is it rebuilding a man. tranny.I have the toyo kogo 5 spd and would like to go to pick'a'part to pick up an extra to rebuild that way I can still drive my truck.Just wondering 'cause the synchro's in mine are slowly goin' and I have know idea what a shop would charge, besides I would like to give it a try.:3gears:

If you have access to all kinds of bearing pullers/splitters, and press and a good shop manual its not that difficult- i rebuilt my fm145 about 2 years ago and its still working strong. I guess it all depends on you attention to detail and motivation. Good luck

Your probably looking at about 1000 bucks to get it rebuilt or like 700 for a remaned one...

I Actually rebuilt my TK5 a few years ago. its not hard at all. I only needed a bearing press for a few of the bearings and alot of patients getting the gears out correctly.

I have a few pics of mine actually... I'll go grab em

EDIT: Here ya go

Its like the simplest thing to work on. I mean there may be easier ones but being my first tranmission rebuild it was EASY!
