Rear Suspension Towing Problem

my 06 must have wimpy rear springs, The truck sits just level by itself,
you add anything to the back and it sags, any way i have a Small 5 x 8 trailer
and my Yamaha 700 4 wheeler to tow, and it needs a little help. What are my options to beef it up just a little, Air shocks? I see Advanced Auto has them for $77

What about helper springs? how do they work?

Well the first reason is the stock 2wd 4cyl trucks don’t have a very good towing package on them actually they are very week. If you wanna to stiffen up the rear the best way is to upgrade to a set of stiff rear shocks and adda Leafs. Also check the front end you might have a set of week springs up front have you modified the front end in any way?

My 2wd ranger also has weak leaf springs in the rear. Possibly the weakest I've ever seen on any truck. It sucks for hauling things, but makes for excellent off-road axle articulation! If you plan on hauling much, and on a regular basis, look into the add-a-leafs. They help with the sagging rear end problem when loaded. However, they make your truck ride a bit rougher when unloaded.

I think air shocks may be As long as you don't exceed the rest of the trucks capacity regularly. Wondering if you have the tongue weight of the loaded trailer at the 10-15 percent mark, or you're placing the 4 wheeler a little too far forward.
