Hey folks,

Putting back together my rear suspension after replacing a broken leaf spring (had new bushings put in too). Now, the new nut on the leaf spring center bolt is too large to pass through the hole in the center of the rear spring seat (where the U-bolts pass through).

I can either round off the edges of those new nuts, or just enlarge the hole in the spring seat. I'm leaning towards drilling out the spring seat a tad, but want to make sure I'm not comprimising its strength by doing so?

Thanks a lot!

drill away just don't go too overboard... it's there for alignment too

Well, I wound up doing a bit of both. Didnt' have to take too much off either one (I figure next time I take those center bolts out I'll be cutting them off anyway, like I did this time).

Thanks!

-Bill
