so i had this crazy idea...

i want to take out both rear seats and rebuild the rear cabin of my 4door. i thought was to have one seat some were in the center facing the pass side door and stacking my amp and sub behing the driver seat. nice and clean all carpeted. maybe a storage box as i frame up a seat bracket and make everything nice and clean looking.

so has anyone ever tryied to mount a set in the center of the truck. and still have some safety about it?

i don't know of anyone doing it, i imagine it would be hard to mount a seat in the center safely. what about just removing one of the jump seats and using the empty space for your sub and amp?

a place for my sub and amp is not the biggest concern. iv ran 15 in there and lost both of my seats and floor to amp racks and boxes tho they all looked nice. im trying to go a different direction. with my new truck. if any one has ever sat in a rear seat it kinda sucks. my train of thought was one comfy seat is better then two shitty seats.

i know its been a long time since iv monkeyed around in the back of a ranger. but i remember the folding seats having 2 big bolts right by the rear wall. so i was thinking of running flat steel across the back of the truck to grab all 4 bolt holes. then attaching a steal cube frame to in and have it contour to the bottom of the truck, sitting in the center. so i can have steal to mount the bottom of the seat and the seat buckle. start boxing it all in, and cleaning it up.

the sub box, amp rack, and storage, will only come into to play if there is enuff natural space being created and proper locations for them to be there.

that might work
