Rear end R&R

I have an 86 ext, two wheel drive. I am in the process of rebuilding the drive shafts. I would like to maintenance my rear end at the same time. What is the best fluid and weight? Are there any things that I should know or do while doing the maintenance?

80w-90 for the diff fluid and it doesn't hurt to pull the drums off and check that the axle seals and brakes aren't leaking anything. could also check the seal and bushing on the slip yolk part of the transmission.
