Rear driveshaft for 88' Ranger

ok guys i got a front DS for my 88' ranger with a 6" lift, EX cab and 5 speed. so now i need a rear driveshaft since the one in the truck is not the right shaft and is horrible unbalanced. it has an 8.8 explorer rear end in it also. what rear driveshafts will fit in it? could i go with a 1 piece from a 98+? and what specs do i look for in the newer ranger to fit my 88? thanks guys.

Explorer Sport Trac driveshafts should fit as well ('01-'05 I think it was)

Yes, the 01-05 sport trac shaft is the same as the 98+ ranger shaft.
