will the rear disc brakes off the explorers work on an 07 fx4 level 2 and if so what all do i need from the junk yard

Yeah, they'll work. You will basically need the anchors on out. You will also need the rear parking brake cables. The explorer discs attach to the cable differently than the Ranger drums. I'd buy the parking cables new though. Junk yard ones may well be frozen and new cables aren't expensive. I'd also go buy new calipers and turn your JY ones in for cores.

You should also replace the brake hoses, don't use the JY ones.

Also, make sure you are taking these brakes off a 2001 or older full size, or a sport/1st gen sport trac. Something with a solid axle. The IRS ones won't work for you.

That caught me, just wanted to clarify so he isn't grabbing stuff off a half ton.

ya know if money isnt an issue, the 2011 ranger fx4 have rear disc brakes. just buy new from ford.
I believe that the axle flange is different though, I remember seeing a pic, they seem totally different than the older ones
