Hey, does anyone know if the 7.5 in my 89 B2 (w 410LS) will work in my 97 Ranger w a 7.5? the "peg leg" in the Ranger is lame in the wet or frozen and I am going to put an 8.8 in the Bronco anyhow. Main question is whether the anti lock in the 89 will work in the 97 or will the brake light be in error mode making the inspection a drag (smog)? The plug looks the same but before I bolt it in I want to know, thanks.

The axle itself will be 3" narrower, the pinion flange will have a different bolt pattern and I think the spacing is slightly different between the springs in a Ranger vs a BII.

Other than that it should go right in :icon_thumby:

So I guess thats a no go, oh well guess I will have to pony up for a better diff, thanks much.

Don't be so quick to quit on the idea.

Companion flanges can be swapped, and with the right tools and know-how you can just throw your 4.10 gears and LS carrier in the Rangers pumpkin.
