My dad is working on a rolled '93 dodge 4x4 with a Cummins and he has the rear brakes off and found some unusual wear on the rear end. Mainly on the drivers side both rear wheel bearings spin on the axle and it has happened before and was welded up. and the other side where the end of the drum seal rides on is wore pretty bad too. The truck looks "well used" and it has a receiver and goose neck hitch with overload springs and a separate transmission cooler with it's own fan. But it seems like the rear end should be designed to haul heavy loads but it's hard telling what was being pulled, but the sticker on the door says it was owned by a custom wood cutting business. So, does anyone know why this could've happened and what's a good way to fix it? I wish I could post some pics to make it clearer.
