rear coil springs?

I bought a 96 Ranger XLT Supercab with the 4.0 liter V6 and a auto tranny the guy who sold it to me says it has new front and rear shocks but will need all 4 coil springs all I can find is the front ones does it have something instead of rear coil springs?

It should have leaf springs in the rear!

unless he is talking about the overload springs that sit on the axle
