What are the little braces called that bolt onto the frame with the bumper and run at about a 45-degree angle out to the bumper? Bumper braces??? or something else? I've looked in a lot of online parts catalogs but they aren't mentioned.
I was in a four-car fender bender Sunday...blonde barbie texting on her cell ran her Lincoln Zephyr into back of a Black Nissan sedan (totaled it) and pushed the Nissan up under the Chevy Silverado behind me, pushing the Silverado into my rear bumper and pushing my bumper in a coupla inches. Also left a couple of marks on the shiny bumper surface where the Silverado made contact. Bumper is still functional, but Barbie's insurance adjustor will be checking my truck soon.
Would at least like to get both those braces replaced...both are bent a little, passenger side is bent the most.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I don't know the part name either. But I will tell you smart phones are the dumbest thing you can have in your car. Here there is a $300 on the spot fine for using one while driving but still people do it all the time. That includes the Police.

Bumper Mounting Bracket - weird though, Rockauto has them for the front but not the rear.

Check Ebay, Amazon or the scrapyard. Somebody should have them!!!

Thanks guys...still can't figure out the correct name for these, or where to get them other than a Ford dealership. Barbie's insurance adjuster called today and told me to go by a body shot and get a written estimate, then come by his office with it so he can take some photos. Hope I can find a hungry body shop in this town.
I'll keep my eyes open tomorrow when I am yard-hopping for a rear axle/differential...mine has been howling for 2 months and I can't take it any more, even with the stereo turned up...keep waiting for a crunch, bang and locked up rear wheels while I steer for the curb.

I just heard that your axle got damaged in the wreck. ;)

Well, actually I thought about that but it just wouldn't fly. I did get an estimate for a little over $500 today and gave it to the insurance adjuster guy...who snapped some pix and promised to send me a check...we'll see.
Meanwhile, I pushed the little green ranger on a short road trip and found a used diff that I brought home...gonna clean it up and check it out tomorrow...3.73 gears instead of 3.45 but that won't matter much.

Got a check yesterday from Barbie's insurance company for $387...lower than the quote I got but hey I'm not bitchin'. That pays for the new/old diff swap and leaves me some spending cash to spend on the 27th anniversary this week...still haven't managed to run that woman off.
