Hey Folks:
I'm new to the Forum and have a question about rear brake size on my 05 Ranger Edge. Rock Auto had discounted their brake pads for front and rear, but I have to choose between 9" and 10" brakes. My Edge has 16" wheels and is 4WD. Can I assume it's got the bigger rear brakes?
Thanks,
Bob

Pads for the rear? You should have 10"x2.5" brake shoes (drums) on the rear. Only the 2011 Rangers have disc all around. And I'm not sure if that is true of all models.

generally 4wd's got the bigger brakes. So yes, you very likely have the 10" drums.

You could also just pull one of the rear tires off and check :icon_cheers:

9" drums are only 1.5" wide, 10" drums are 2.5" wide. There is a significant difference in their beefiness.

Good info. Measuring the width should make it clear. And yes, I could pull a wheel. All in good time.

Thanks
