Hello,
Swapping the rear end on my truck due to broken gear, What i need to know is what year ranger axles directly fit and what dont? I read on here that the new axles are 2" wider.. Does that just mean the wheels will stick out an inch further on each side? as with my 1990 they are further in then my fronts so I dont see an issue.

anyways let me know, i have to hunt the classifieds and wreckers soon :)

A 93+ ranger rear end will bolt right in and will be the same width as the front axle that is in your truck, there won't be any problems. Try to get an 8.8 if you have a 4.0L, and make sure the gearing matches the front diff.

The Wider rear track is really nice in a FAST corner:)

It also adds stability when loaded or towing.

1993-up all have the wider axle assembly.
