look on that page
they have something called "super flex"u joints

sounds awsome
tell me what you think

o and they not only have a warrinty for the life of the u jount(if it breaks)
BUT they will also fix/replace tour broken driveshaft for free

Yeah I remember seeing those (or something similar) on TRUCKS! a few years back... Stacey said they could take up to something like 60*. That's pretty impressive.

I wonder if there is enough play in the slip yoke for the middle u-joint of the TTB shaft for those to work... Would definately solve the binding issues when you get into high flex.

I had a similar thought.

I wouldn't want to use this thing on the rear, but the front is quite another story. One doesn't drive highway speed in 4WD....

Yeah those things will vibrate like a bastard if you put it on the rear driveshaft and try to run it at freeway speed.

I highly doubt they'd be as strong as a Spicer 5-760 joint (that is if they even have one sized to fit).
Clearancing the yoke will usually get you all the joint flex you'd need.

MAKG- people dont run in 4x4 at highway speeds? I run 80kmh+ in 4x4 a lot in the winter with no issues.

If you need to use 4WD, highway speed is TOO FAST.

If you can drive highway speed, you don't need (and shouldn't use) 4WD. Good traction eats 4WD parts.

maybe its just part of growing up in the snow. There's lots of times when you can run 4x4 and do 80 kmh. I dont do it when there is like 6inchs of snow or anything retarded like that.

I run my BII in 5th low range frequently. definitely not hiway speed but fast enough that these things would shake bolts out. For a crawler they might be ok but I would do what Jessie at Hi Angle Driveline does and mill the yokes for clearance. The offset between the cross' on those can't be good for strength either. Bet they're expensive as hell too.

I run mine with my hubs locked in but the lever in 2wd for quite abit of the winter, so while I am not technically in 4x4 the front driveline is still turning.

+1.

MAKG,

You've never visited Canada in the winter , Eh ??? :D

Cool idea. It would change the shaft length a bit. I don't know if they'd fit and work in a front axle.

The issue is not whether the shafts are turning. It's driveline windup.

No, I've never visited Canada in winter. But I certainly have lived around snow. If you can do highway speed at all, you can do it in 2WD. 4WD doesn't help stopping and hurts turning by forcing a tire to slip.
