how do i read ABS codes like i would engine codes? my ABS light came on and id like to know why

The same way you would for any other code, get it scanned.
i know that ryan will the same code reader for the engine read them or is there a special one for the ABS system. i tried it at advance and nothing came up with the regular scanner

Hmm both our snap on scanner and our Ford IDS do it all, not sure what they are using at advance but it should be able to read it.
No, with the manufacturer 'actron' (whom advance carries), there is a special code reader for abs. The obdII scanner wont read abs codes.
