Re-ring and bearing kit????

I have a 1995 4.0 that I was thinking of freshen up before I put it in my truck. Everything inside the cylinder walls looks just fine I was thinking of getting a re-ring kit with all new bearings and gaskets. My question is, do I have to, or need to have any machine work done to the block or crank? Or could I just tear it down, re-ring it, put all the new bearings in it, then reassemble it all with the new gaskets and everything be alright? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You won't know until you tear it down and measure.
