Here is the response from RCD about future production of their 5" Lift Kit, p/n: 10-42498:

From RCD - Matt Yoder:
"We were considering manufacturing more kits at one time, but the official
word has been given that this kit will not be put back into production. It
has been discontinued and will not be available in the future".

Thank you,
Matt Yoder
RCD Suspension

Too bad this was a great kit.
SuperLift is the last one, maybe they will add the Coil-Over Option.

p.s. I have asked about piece parts, still waiting for an answer.

Dixon Bros makes a coil-over kit too but it costs even more than the RCD.

Update on RCD Parts

I have seen the other kits but they make the truck too wide.

I got the reply from RCD on the subject of left-over parts and as suspected it is not good; "No parts are available".
This leads me to wonder, were the kits that good where no extra parts were needed for repair/replacement/warranty ?

I still would have liked to have had one, now I have to go with the SuperLift Kit and if the ride isn't good enough I will change over to a Coil-Over Setup.

I don't see why the Superlift kit would change the ride. There is a guy at the Sport Trac forums who fabbed up his own coil-over setup using some Superlift parts and RCD shock mounts and Fox coil-over shocks to get rid of the torsion bars. I don't know the details but I suspect that he had to use the Superlift bracketry and knuckles, then measure what he needed for coil-overs and order them.

time for a sas

Its called doing a sas swap in the amount of time it would take you to drop in a super lift you could drop in a dana 44 and then you dont have those little AXLES. I just bought a 09 ranger 4x4 4.0l 5speed and i was looking into droping in the same kit you are. But after droping in a dana 44 and a 9inch into my 1st gen i think im going to do the same to my 09 in the near future.

This is turning into a thread instead of just info...

I was under the impression that the SuperLift Kit increased the spring rate by twisting the t-bars a little more than stock.
From this reaction I guess I was wrong, so i might give it a try; I know the SL Lift has new knuckles for most of the lift.

The D44/9"er is a step above where I want to be with this one, I just want a DD with a little lift, chances are it will never is a trail, that's the 82 Scrambler's job.

Thanks for the info, i will check out the Explorer Site.

ltr,

The Superlift gets the lift by using drop brackets for most of the front suspension...diff, t-bars, crossmembers, lower control arms, all get lowered. The knuckles are to lower the front hubs within the control arms so the halfshaft and CV angles are good. A truck with a Superlift kit will have less CV angle than one (okay, mine) with just a torsion twist. I have seen this personally.
What can be an issue if you actually off-road is that since the front crossmember gets lowered, then the only actual ground clearance you gain there is what you get from putting on taller tires. Unlike a solid axle, the crossmember doesn't move with the suspension.
It is what it is.

Superlift kit basically drops your factory suspension down away from the frame. It's otherwise stock in performance and you can still crank the bars and yes the torsion bar drop brackets do drag on things(as the evidence shows on my key covers). lol.

hate to spoil your ego, but an SAS on a 98+ is a little more complicated to finish than bolting on a superlift, not to mention at least double the cost if you go for good parts...it's definately not as easy as a 97 and older...all the BS work was already done for you thanks to ford(coilbuckets, an actual steering box in the correct position). Only guy that can solid axle a 98+ in a day is Zabeard..

Buying a SuperLift Kit and some adapter Coil-Over Shock with add on Struts.

Can't wait for the parts to get here.

Thinking on the standard 285x75x16 tire, toss up on the MTZ and the KM2...

lift kits

you figure that the rcd and superlift is good for oh 12 years of rangers that there would be more lift kits out there. the ttb boys have what a dozen choices availible, and we are down to about 2. maybe we should get all our heads together and make one normal guys can afford. and a kit to do a 4 link sas on a ranger too?

You would think...
A 4-Link Kit for D44 and 9" would be nice, with a reasonable lift 4-5".
