soon i am going to be buying another rbv, i was wanting to lift it and run 33s to start with and eventually 35's. im going to regear lockers blah blah. i was going to buy the rough country 4"lift and some body lift.

i started reading and actually paying attentiong to the tech library when i came across this.

i planned on chevy leafs in the rear. but i was wondering if i did a rc 4" lift, could i adapt this onto it? i can get the shock hoops built, but it doesnt really say( or i didnt see where it said) how to mount dual shocks to the axle housing..

as far as i can see it just incorporates the jeep coils, a shock hoop and dual shocks right? why cant i run dual f250 shock hoops? it does say you cant drill new holes for the left hoop, it says why. but in the picture i see no reason he couldnt. it seems to me that his hoops could have been iether wider or skinnier.

is it much more complicated than this? seems like im missing something. maybe someone with experience will chime in..

this rig wont be driven as a daily driver. i have a car for that. itll only be driven to the trail and camping. no rock crawling, just mild trails. some mud. not worried about the grinding or anything.

on another note, does any one know how much flex you get from a stock rough country 4 inch lift? is this going to add much more? im assuming itll add quite abit more.

^ This. The coils are stiff..Like, Mack Dumptruck stiff. Get some EB (early Bronco) coils or Skyjacker softride coils.

thats kind of what i figured, idk why they would sell a lift kit that doesnt flex, guess some guys dont look into this stuff. and you get what you pay for..

i was on an explorer forum last night and a guy did this swap and only used 1 bilstien shock on each front wheel. he had really good results. maybe ill just try it.

You ask a question and then balk at the responses you get? Trust us, they will NOT flex. Or at least trust me when I say I have them installed on my truck and they are horrible.

Save the money you would spend on a dual shock setup that isnt even needed... and get some flexy xj or eb coils and build a set of extended radius arms.
Use Currie johnny joints...preferably... or heims or something similar because the stock radius arm bushings will also limit your flex considerably even with the extended arms.
This will make you happy with the TTB suspension setup for a trail truck.
