Was stumbling on FireFox tonight and came across a web site dedicated to logging Mustangs that are still out there. Did a little more research and found one for T-birds as well.

The Ranger and her siblings are now 28 years old and those 83's are probably going to that great boneyard in the sky more and more. Hell, 25 years and a vehicle is considered a classic (50 for antique).

It would take some effort but TRS would be a great place to have a list of what we have and keep a record of: still operating, how many miles, colors, 2wd or 4wd etc.....

I know some RBV's are put together to be beaten like a red headed step child on the trails but many are viable restoration candidates and let's face it, there will never be another truck like ours again.

I am in favor of putting this together and having a posterity record of our beloved trucks. What about you guys?

jeepforum has this has well, its pretty neat.. but seemed to be a lot of work.
i have lots of good ideas as long as someone else is gonna do all the work! lol..

I like this idea, but I'm hoping it doesn't exclude non-classic Rangers. :P

It'd be awesome to have one of those windshield interior stickers with a registry number on it like the Student Parking stickers at the Tech college I went to.

I believe it would be open to all RBV's no matter the year. Eventually 2011's will be considered "Old".

A registry can catalog the trucks history as well. Do a VIN serach on it and you'd be surprised on what you can learn about a truck. My new to me 93 was built in Eddison, NJ. Hell I didn't even know there was a Ranger plant there.

As far as owner history goes, the '94 I'm about to get was bought new off the lot by my Grandma :D

Could include info that kind of combines a little bit of Carfax and a normal registry, since part of the aim is be for people to find restoreable trucks.

Yuppers.

Sounds like an awesome idea. Let's do it. I got 7 years before mine is a classic. LOL.

I am down. Mine is a mutt now though, 05 Ranger body, 96 Expo 5.0 motor, 98 Expo 4R70W trans.

This is a great idea. Count me in. One more year till I'm a classic.

I can get classic plates at 12 years old and antique plates at 25 here. I just have to prove that the vehicle is original, which mine is not.

Heck, I saw an 87 Chrysler LeBaron riding around with classic plates the other day.:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

Shoot Ford an email and they can get you the original buildsheet.

I got one for both of my trucks, my F-150 hadn't changed much... my Ranger had even before I got ahold of it.
