My uncle has a 1966 mecury comet 2 door hardtop 289 4 speed auto sitting in a barn by my house an has been for 15 years.. I was wondering if anyone on here has or nows anyone that has a car like this.

I don't, but I'v got a cool barn find. My dad and uncle's old race car that they ran in the late 60's early 70's, a 41 Willys Sedan Gasser. It was found in a barn out in Missouri a few years ago.

that thing is purely badass, ive always loved willy's gassers :headbang:

My dad has a '65 2 door(best looking year IMO.) He swapped the 289 for a 351w. It's sitting down in California right now....it'll be mine someday

My first Ford was a '64' Mercury Cyclone, 4 speed with the 289 "K" code engine. Should have kept that one.

An co-worker that I know found a 1993 Chevy S-10 with 12,000 miles on the odometer. I thought at first it was a fraud. But after checking it myself, it truely had that low of mileage.

Being a V8 and 4-speed, that Comet should be worth a few bucks.
Guy down the street from me has an ex-NHRA Super Stock Ford Falcon built by Holman-Moody back in the 60's. He was in college in NC when he saw it and bought it back then when its racing career was over. It was his daily ride (and weekend racer) for many years. Roll bar, no interior except for 2 bucket seats. A number of years ago he parked it in his garage with the intent to restore it, however his garage is at the top of a "T" intersection and one night about 10 years ago a drunk driver missed the stop sign, plowed through his garage door, and demolished the rear third of the Falcon. It's still in there though.

They made fun cheap drag cars back in their days. They were cheap cars and they were cheap to buy as well. Lightweight cars always are fun to hot rod!!!! I would buy it and stuff in a real Hipo 390 big block and cruise it around and show it off!!!
