Alright I finally got the ranger to start and turn over. But It wasnt getting fuel. So i went and got a new pump. It wouldnt turn on. So i toggle switched the pump now my rails getting pressure. I sprayed starting fluid in it and it would start up and run till the starting fluid was gone. So i figured coil. I have an MSD blaster coil laying around and i put that on it. Same thing. Burns off the starting fluid then dies. Why wont my ranger stay running?

And it does have new cap rotor and plugs and wires.. Maybe i mixed up a wire?

Your getting fire so focus on fuel. Put a guage on the fuel rail if your getting pressure then it is something with the injectors.

yea, a coil/cap/wires/plugs aint the issue as the igition system is work, its your fuel delivery system, check for lack of fuel presser or bad injectors

Pulled the rail and injectors off my other engine i was rebuilding for the truck..put new injector seals on them Putting them on tomorrow. hopefully they are good.

Ok tried new injectors.... Still nothing. I have spark and plenty of pressure in the rail but nothing coming out of the injectors

New TFI module.. Still nothing.. Im stumped... any ideas?

aint the tfi, thats igition related, your ignition system is fine, check to see if your fuel pump is working and post back, if the pump works when hot wired directly to +12v, then it could be your inertia switch. its a switch that shuts off the fuel pump when you hit something hard. if the pump is pumping, and your still not getting fuel to the rails, check your filter and your pressure regulator.

There is pressure in the rail. ANd i tested the injectors i just put on all reading 15 ohms.. pulled my plugs they dont smell of gas.. they do smell of starting fluid and are black as night

so it runs on starting fluid ok, but wont work with the efi system? there many possiblities then, including a fried computer not sending current to the injectors.

Just tried another computer out of an 89 ranger

Picked up a code reader today along with a repair book.. Soon as it stop raining ill go out and mess with it but Im looking at these wiring diagrams and had a questions... Does the fuel pump relay control the injectors at all? i wired my pump to a switch becuase it wasnt turning on. Maybe the relay was bad? or something im not seeing that intertwines the injectors and pump?
