Ranger Turbo Project

[First On Race Day]

Hey guys.
I have been reading a little on these turbo swaps on the rangers and b series mazdas and I think I want to do one myself. I am just looking for some advice on what to buy. My truck is going to be 4x4 and preferably the newer the better under $2500. Do you guys think this would be better on a ranger or a mazda pickup? Also, what is the price on the easiest parts to get for the turbo and what parts are all needed to complete the conversion. I am just looking for some input from those of you who have already done this.

the 93 up rangers and mazda b series are the same so basically its your choice. welcome to trs btw

fords and mazdas are so alike these days it doesnt really matter, as long as you go w/ a b2300 or b2500 (so the motor mounts and tranny are the same...) or a 2.3 or 2.5 ranger you shouldnt have any problems, best to have a donor car for the swap so you can rob the engine harness and all and swap it out. 2.0 rangers i believe also have the same bolt pattern as the 2.3 (2.0/2.3/2.5 motors share the same block and bolt patterns last time i chkd). i dont think the newer duratecs will swap, never looked that bolt pattern up to be honest but its not a lima engine. welcome to trs and post plenty of pics, we love to see builds!!
