Ranger Sport Honduras official build thread

Now to get rid of the vaccum disconnect stuff. The advantage to it is the bracket is made if cast and thats stronger then the non disco. axles.

What can i do to make it a permanent fix?
dont tell me to get a new axle shaft because that wont happen here.

I thought i had to make another contraband mission to get the missing parts for the axle- gettin used parts from the US from my cousin eduardo95, but i found all im missing, so thats great.

used i found: the missing caliper bracket and bearing hub.
new i found the calipers, rotors, drag link and tie rod.
calipers and rotors are in a fairly good price for being new. the most expensive part is the tierod

Yeah, closer and closer

i need to get the driveshafts so i can install the 4wd trans to sell the 2wd one and driveshaft to get funds for the axle parts, bearings and seals.

yeah the difference in size is amazing. the stock d30 stuff is usually like a .71 inch stuff and the v8 zj is bolt up and is 1.4 inch stuff and solid. its a major upgrade for little money.

idk if this link is in the other writeup or not...

its a good one, w/ pics to compare the difference in the size.

Ya you have to get another non disco shaft. Right now you have 2 shafts in place of the one and it is a weak setup that doesnt always work (when hooked up that is). Plus you have to put an axle seal inside the diff and get rid of the outter one for the dico. And yes that does involve taking the diff out but you dont have to reset up any gears.

Now to make it functional at all times, some guys hook a cable to it to engauge/disenguage it and some just shim it so that it stays fully enguaged. All I wanna say is I strongly recommend getting rid of it when you get the chance, as it sits right now, it is one wheel drive and the passenger wheel wont be able to function if it wanted to.

Ill try to set it up and ill use an electro valve to engage, disengage it.
if by chance it goes bad ill just make a fix to leave it on the engaged position.

Is it safe to extend a Ranger tie rod?
i could get one for really cheap.
from my measurements the d30 tie rod is 52 inches long, and the Ranger one 49.
My cousin did that once and the truck still drives with no issue.
sleeving is what he did to extend it.

That is kind of what I did.

Seems liek thats how im gonna do it, since brand new tie rods are expensive for either vehicles.

The Ranger tie rod joints fit the D30 knuckles?

Got a contact who will get me both drive shafts, the T case and steering links(drag bar and tie rod) from a BII.
I hope he can take them off the BII soon.

Mean while, the trans is ready to go. ill go change the seal that gos on the T case, because they gaved me the wrong one.

Since i was bored because i couldnt put the t case back, curiosity got me and i decided to look inside of it :D
