so tonight my friend decides to take his early 90's toyota truck through about.... 3.5 feet of water. with a 6 inch lift and 32's its was sadly not enough. the engine bay flooded and the engine stalled. well i get a call at about 11:30 from my friend who was in the truck that their stuck and the trucks dead. so i instantly grab a friend with a sport 4x4 and we head over. the water level went up over the hood, and the engine was 95% under. so we hook a 30 foot tow cable, throw the sport 4x4 into low and pul it 300 feet backwards through a trail with foot deep ruts. once out, i towed the toyota about 20 miles down the road to his house and into his driveway. i have pics of it that ill get as soon as he posts them on facebook. gota say it wasnt what i had in mind for tonight. i ended up getting home at around 1 am.

rangers save the day, AGAIN. :icon_hornsup::headbang::yahoo:

EDIT: pics are up:

heh, my unlifted B2 on 205/75/15 highway tires went thought 4 feet of water last year, no problems at all.

tell that guy to never forget what you did for him and be ready for a call one day when your in that situation!!! i will ALWAYS help someone in need as long as i know they would do the same for me, and of course a case of beer as a thank you wouldnt hurt either

Nice! Did he learn his lesson? Ha ha
i think we gave him false hope. ive been through there and so has my friends sport 4x4, but the water level was about 2 feet lower. so when we were tellin him just before he left to do this that we made it through, he probably assumed it was recently and said **** lets try it.

its funny. it was harder going forward in there then it was going backwards out with a toyota in tow.

Good pics...and good job on the rescue...

But that truck sorta looks like an alligator with its' mouth open and showing the teeth...lol

When does THAT much water even look like a good idea.. Or do I just have common sense? Lol.

Nice job, a true friend like you is something every one needs. You Gonna come pull me out next time I'm stuck n sleep in my truck overnight lol

Ha ha! I've been a victim of the same thing. I submerged my '87 Bii when I was 17, because some friends said "It's not that deep, I did it in mine yesterday" Luckily we had a dozer close by, and I killed the engine before it took on water.

You live and you learn:icon_thumby:

Normally, no matter what someone tells you, most people would have the common sense to actually see how deep the water is, BEFORE they would drive into it...

Fail.
