Yup so I played a bit with some little Aeromods, removed weight and got 18mpg at 80-mph at altitude in the Colorado Mtns across I70, yay! I think I picked-up about 1mpg.

We parted-out our camping vehicle, an 01 Exploder and the truck just got a camper shell. So I added the weight of the shell back and created more drag. I craiglisted a great deal at $225. The shell contours to the cab shape, is tight fitting, fiberglass, with tinted windows, sliders, and carpeted.

I am not going to set a tent anymore. We got an Easy-Up (with side panels) to hide under, store our gear, and set-up a kitchen. That leaves the bed of the truck as a bed (no more tent and cots). I got 3 pieces of 4" thick foam to make the bed. One for the front 19"X54", one between the wheel wells 20"X41", and one for the back 22"X54". I will get my lady to sew-up some slip covers for the foam.

Now we can get out easier and set-up for quick overnights in the Rockies! However I sacrificed some go fast and handling for that, things change. I could set-up a way to remove and hang the shell with a 10" ceiling in my garage, but I think I will keep the shell on and may color match it/paint it. It is currently a medium silver metallic.
