ya,that's a good pic.i had no good reason to put it in except that i liked it

oh,and don't get too used to that red.:D

what color are you planing on painting it? sticking with the blue/black or going something epic fitting with the refit?

not 100% sure yet.....but the red's already gone.

I realize it was just primer, but I kinda liked the white. Cool in the summer and stealth mode in the winter. :D

you never know...could end up being any color,i'll probably figure it out just before i paint it.

so let's move into today.literally.

this is how it sits right now(just took this pic 5 minutes ago)

i took no pics of the disassembly....it was a sad day, even if i knew it was just an intermediate stage.most of the work was done with a torch and a sawzall.
i also didn't take any of the initial assembly.so this is it.i'm building new crossmembers, the engine still needs to be bolted to the frame, but the transmissions are bolted in.after all the parts are built,it needs to be stripped down, and the frame sandblasted before paint goes on it.also, the suspension arms are showing the effect of too many dunks in salt water so they will get blasted as well.same with the wheels.

new fenders will be made from fiberglass,as i don't run the tight trails like i used to,so body damage is less of a problem.i want it to be pretty.

Lovin it, keep it goin!

thanks....it'll be going as i do things now,as i'm out of the archival photos.

it has to share time with all the other projects.:D

from the front-the front clip is from a 91 explorer.that's why i'm calling it a '91 now.

are you keeping the tied TTB 44/50 ? I thought I read somewhere that you had a 60 for it....

Take a couple pics parallel with the frame from the rear forward to show the rest of the trannies....

no,i have this collecting dust in the end of the boat shed.

it's from a 96 f350....i also have a kingpin one from an 87 f350,but i think i'll use this one.i didn't have it when i was initially piecing the truck together for the refit,so that's why the old one is in there-i have to pull it out to fit up the 60.

Is that a dana 50 ttb welded solid? I assume so by the tie rod. I've thought about that a few times. Pics please! this thing is WAY outside of the box.

if you go back and read the thread from the start,it's all in there.

this is from just over the rear diff-that's it's yoke in the foreground-toward the front.the trans that was pictured a few posts back is the black one,the crossmember that it is hanging from is one i just finished building.
