With all trannies in first and both cases in low, it took 8 minutes for the tire to make 1 revolution...

i've had some ideas, but i don't want to put something there just to have something there.if a legitimate need for something comes up,i know the take-off is available:icon_thumby:.

they do indeed. Older ones are shaft driven with a gear box on the side of the drum. The next gen was also shaft driven but had a self contained low volume hydraulic system. Modern ones are fully hydraulic with a large reservior/cooler elsewhere on the truck. All of them are very large (20,000 lbs and up) and very involved. They have multiple points of failure and are very high maintenance. An electric winch is far more practical, compact, affordable, efficient, and reliable. For these reasons the military is finally beginning to transition to electric winches.

i might be looking into a Rail Truck PTO Transfer-case.... for a warn hydraulic winch.. 19 ft. -7 sec... would be nice to have behind my newly found weight.... id look at a removable one gwaii ;)

i'm running a warn 9500 winch on the front.it never got much use, outside of helping pull other trucks out.

well, the rebuilt engine/trans mey be a no-go.the guy who has it is now considering an offer on the bronco complete from a guy willing to pay too much for it.

we'll se what happens, lots of times there's guys with big offers and small wallets.if need be,i can run one of the engines i have.and i've been collecting parts:D.

460 sitting out back with your name on it.
I figure when you come pick up the Rd350 we can build a trailer and and you can tow it back with you...

may have to just install the 460 into the rd and drive it back:D

installing the 460 into a '73 RD350 is the easy part......getting my butt from haida gwaii to tennesee is the real challenge:icon_bounceblue:

Oh come on... it's not that bad...

but you have to decide on whether to run it longitudinally or transverse.... transverse might be simpler but it could be a little tough to ride...
