First time poster, just purchased 02 XLT, 3.0. Changing over to synthetic fluids. Is it advisable to switch to 0W-20 instead of OEM 5W-20? I'm considering this due to oil change interval. Also, auto trans states 10 quart capacity. Is this correct, or only if the entire system is flushed? :icon_confused:

Welcome to the Station Sunranger. The synthetic oil is better for high mileage vehicles, but it works equally good in newer vehicles too. It's just a simple matter of better lubrication and it doesn'y decompose as fast as conventional oil. On the trans, I'm not sure what you have, but my 4R44E states 5 quarts without the torque converter drained, so I put 5 quarts in and have had no problems, but I always use OEM trans fluid and synthetic non-OEM oil.
