Ranger on 2.5tons aka project fire in the hole

ya everyone covered what mohawking does for the 2.5 tons and also they look way better mahawked lol.... and multiranger that would be a funny picture for sure

I saw spiders in there, leaving it open or welding/locking/spooling it?

The rear was already welded when I got it and I am going to be putting a Detroit in the front axle

Very nice!

when you start breaking stuff on those axles forget about randy overson (sp) and check out gearhart engineering. Much higher quality parts!

awsome except what trails is it gonna fit on? haha or is it just a bogger now

check out peterson offroad they did a lift laws segment over hte last three months. That will tell you how many tickets your gonna get, but bumper heights and headlight hieghts is what most states worry about so If you fab a street bumper that is removable to keep them in spec, you shouldnt have a problem LOL

removable front bumper and a REALLY big drop down hitch. That is what all the stupid high lifted trucks out here and back home run.

yea except isnt this thing gonna be 2 lanes wide lol. plus i dont think the tires would be dot approved

On the subject of dot, michelin makes some masive and very aggresive tires that are dot aproved and hutchinson makes beadlock inserts for split rims that are dot aproved and the tire still mounts on the inside of the wheel where it belongs.

Sweet :headbang:

its basically a bogger now i am building a trail truck also but that got put on the back bunrner for a little while... ya the tires i am running arent DOT either but still going to drive it a little around town to car shows a few times also. and here in florida if your vehicle is over 5,000lbs there is only a head light height. and chknfkr -have you used gearhart engineering alot and what have you got from them?

not personally, not yet anyway. I can't drop that kind of cash all at once on my rig, the soon to be wife would kill me. I have seen their products in action though. I know they make a duece wheel disc brake kit so you can scrap the drums or pinion brake or whatever you have. they make a kit to use 5 ton outers on dueces. they make spools. they make replacement shafts and joints. I've never seen or heard of their stuff breaking.

If you're worried about breaking shit on a duece i will say this, its cheaper to start with the 5 tons than it is to build a duece as strong as one, and then you can beef them up too!
