ranger moments ,have you ever

this is the fun one go out at 2 A.M. in the summer and see how many opossums you have under your truck in an hour (sorry lowered trucks only) my record is 4 and it was pretty messy but a couple of places have heated car washes so no worries

Something in my truck in a walmart parking lot. I'd go into detail, but it's not "family friendly".

Driving on a mountain road in Maine on Christmas 08. It was real icy and windy. The wind catches the tail end of my truck and sends me into a slide. I tried counter-steering/driving with the throttle but it only caused the tail end to fish-tail from side-to-side. The road was just a layer of ice and I couldn't get any traction. The whole time I'm yelling to my girlfriend "I got it, I got it." Finally after fish-tailing back and forth about five times another gust of wind catches the truck and spins it a full 360 and lands us in a snow bank. Best part was right in the middle of the spin I go to my gf "I don't got it!" Put the truck in 4low, crawled out of the snow bank, and finished the rest of the trip in 4hi going aout 30mph tops. Driving through the same area that spring I found the exact spot I hit the snow bank. Turns out there was a 40ft cliff on the other side of that bank. Talk about a Christmas miracle

had my b2 out on some washerboard dirt roads showing my friend the place from my legendary "bronco II watercraft" incident.

it was foggy and the road was worse than usual, i turned around a pothole and i lost the back end, started to go over, i slammed the short stick backwards and pushed the skinny pedal to the floor, cut the wheel to the left and brought it back down, spun it completely in around and ended up facing the opposite direction, stopped.

another time, out in the woods, me and my girlfriend were enjoying how comfortable the hood of my b2 is, when it starts rolling down the hill.

chasing a truck with your pants halfway pulled up isn't a fun time.

Hahaha.

I let my girlfriend drive my truck once...

Ya, the one with the V8.

Unless she's Danica Patrick, letting your girlfriend drive your truck is usually a bad idea.

I made one cry from fear of death just by going 35 through a set of S-curves with the yellow signs saying to only go 25. I broke up with her two weeks later.

Those yellow signs are just a guide. Besides, 35 around a 25 mph curve isn't that bad. Now, if it was 50 around a 25 mph curve...

Crazy moments? Let's see now...
Bought a purple truck and put a teal green bed cap on it. Put a 13 ft ladder in a 6 ft bed. Did 85 in Indiana w/ my 4-banger Ranger. Took a few hours, but she did it! :icon_twisted:

i did a "35mph" curve in my b2 at 85, they really should replace the sign, it's wrong.

I was on a long gravel road with a girl once, the kind of road that ends in a nice secluded gravel bank. I parked the Ranger between two of the piles where it was nice and cozy and started to show the girl how well the cool new stereo I put in works. About ten minutes into this demonstration I notice some random fourteen or so year old kid standing next to one of the gravel banks watching us. I yelled out "WHAT THE HELL" and jumped back into the drivers seat so I could tear ass out of there. Must of covered that little bastard in gravel because when I drove back through he was covered in dirt. If getting sprayed with rocks didn't make him sh*t his pants I'm sure a truck heading towards him at about 45 did. He ran off into the woods, probably to go clean his undies in the river.

HAHA, nice stories. Just last week someone deicided to end up sideways infront of me at a light. To avoid hitting them I had to go into on coming traffic, cut across 3 lanes and attempt to make a left turn into an old montgomery wards lot. I ended up on the easement missing the driveway, drove the ranger under the stabilizer wire for a telephone pole and missing the fire hydrant by maybe 2 inches! I almost needed a fresh pair of shorts!

not a ranger story, but i once slid a dodge ram on a wet road, into the grass, and sideways between a light pole and a road sign, there was perhaps three inches of clearance on either bumper.

Fun times! Makes ya wonder, how the f*&k that happened!

Now imagine if it stopped right between those, how the hell would you have gotten out?

no idea, would have made a hell of a photo though.

In my old 4x4, with a flat RR tire, and no workin 2wd, I found a construction site that was muddy as hell. Me and my buddy were riding around till the tire went flat. Apparently the guys were at lunch or something, but I hauled ass in there, zoomed up into the mud. It was up over the hubs and i was just spinning and spinning. Almost got stuck, once I got out, I had made a long ass curve of a trench in where I assume they were going to pave when it drived. I feel bad now but back then I felt pretty badass, since my flat tire and radial managed to make it through some serious mud

I have three I would love to share:
#1-1995 Ranger 2.3L 2WD 5spd. Out with my ex-roomate, we were bringing a resume to a local chicken farm so he could actually pay rent. Down the backroads we flew, got lost, so i decided to turn around and head up the next concession. Well, the shoulder of the road was a LOT smaller then i thought....:shok: We were tipping pretty good to the right, so plowed through the ditch, up the other side and into the farmer's field. I thought it would be wise to try to drive back through the ditch:annoyed:...nope! Ripped off the front license plate and managed to hang the truck on the front bumper, all the while having just the back left tire touching. With some rocking and jumping in the bed, it finally came out.
#2-Same truck. Just met my present day GF an was like, hmmmm lets go DRIFTING. Went to the local Canadian Tire parking lot after recieving a fair dumping of snow. Said "I'm pretty good at this" and started strutting my stuff..lost control and ended up a few inches from the fence for the outdoor/seasonal area lmao.
#3-2003 Ranger 3.0L 2WD 5spd. On a coffee run from work with my bro, we decided to take a short cut between parking lots-through a great big undeveloped area. Everything was going great till i hit the weak ice. Sunk right in an got completely stuck. What turned into a 15 min coffee run turned into an hour dig-the-truck-out-from-the-mud-bog-cause i'm stupid episode. Finally got it out, with the help of two KFC employees..got them completely drenched in mud and ice-cold water haha!
