Hey guys,
I would rather buy a brand new part than a rebuilt especially when it comes to an engine, something that the motor companies seem to be doing right. Chevy Toyota etc. although they might be losing money due in part to it. Unlike good old ford not taking the bail out money but anyways........
Heres the thing, I looked it up on various OEM trademotion Ford and Mazda online parts sites. You can buy a spankin brand new 96 2.3 small block from Mazda for the B series2.3(not rebuilt), Ford only offers their blocks rebuilt. Will a 96 Mazda 2.3 small block bolt on to a Ranger 2.3 cylinder head and fit the rest of the parts because they are the same. Or are they slightly different, or even completely different?

Thanks
Jason

I would say yes. My 98 Mazda says ford all over it. I am almost positive that the b-series pickups and rangers came off the same line, however I am not sure about your year.

Why not call the mazda/ford dealerships in your area. I know the guy at the parts counter at mazda here in my town knows his stuff and is willing to talk to me about things and has offered some good advice on what years parts fit into mine so I could find in the junk yard.
