Wondering what in the box....top to bottom measurements rough measurements are?

My tuff country coils are 17" long relaxed.

Anyone tell me what a pair of 4 inch, 5.5 inch and 6 inch coils measure? typically.

I was told 4 in coils length is 17 inches....and 5.5-6 inch coils measure 20-21inches.

anyone else able to confirm or enlighten me on this? THANKS ALL!

To do this you'd need to know the spring rates, as they will vary the length of the spring. However, stock loaded coil height is usually right around 10"s.

Im going to be doing a SAS and I was given a set of Rusty's Jeep coils that are 21 inches relaxed and have a 150 pound spring rate and they give an XJ 6.5 inches of lift. Of course a Ranger weighs more in the front.

He's still got TTB though, so he'll need a stiffer coil. Also a 150lb spring is VERY soft, I run closer to a 325inlb coil and it flex's great and rides nice as well. The amount of lift it gives a jeep is irrelevant as mounts etc are completely different then those on a ranger.

What lift size are your tuff country coils for? Im trying to find out relaxed lengths as well

Skyjacker's 4" coils also happen to be 17 free length, their 6" coils are 19".

It's true different springs having different rates can be different lengths for the same lift height, however I do think most of the stiff coils currently made for the TTB are all gonna be within an inch of each other (probably 16-18" free for 4" coils, and 18-20" for 6"ers).

Thank you 4x4junkie! I have been looking for those measurements forever. The used lift I bought had superlift brackets, but RED coils that had been painted black. They measured about 19" free. That explains this whole mess I'm in with the lift I just put on...

So the question is now, where from and what coils should I order? It seems to be the general consensus that the skyjacker coils are the best off the shelf ranger ones?

After reading your other post, I doubt they are Skyjacker coils. SJ coils would sit at 4.5" lift on your Supercab truck, which is just about perfect for 4" lift brackets. Maybe they are black coils that were painted red, then black again?

yah those coils could have easily been painted or powder coated from a previous owner. thanks for all the measurements guys.

there 4 inch lift coils will sit will sit at 4.5 inches so is that close to 5 with a singlecab 4.0

Skyjacker 6" coils pt#136 tend to sit at 4.5" lift (or 15" compressed length) on a Supercab truck. Their #134 coils (4") sit at a paltry 2.5" lift on the same truck.

Add about 0.5-1" lift for a reg cab truck depending on engine and whether longbed or shortbed.

dam with a single cab long bed ill probly be sitting a tad bit to tall could i call up ebach and see if they have ranger springs beacuse i belive camburg uses there springs
