Ranger Jerking Between Shift

did you take any photos before pulling it out? If not you will need to set a TDC and stab it. You may have to try repeatedly until you get it running correct.

Im not sure what you mean when you say stab it? I set tdc then installed the sync the direction i believe it was before. The sensor is pointing in the same direction as my brothers Mercury Sable with the 3.0L in it.

I started the truck and it starts up fine, then idles a tad bit rough. When I start do drive however it stumbles but once I go fast it smooths right out. So is the timing just off? can I spin the sensor around to fix this? If so what direction?
