ranger front end

i just bought my second ranger. first that is 4x4 it is a 89 and has dana 28 with 373 gears i am looking to run my 30" mud kings wondering if the front end will hold up to some pretty serious off road and i go off road about 3 times a week and dont wanna break down alot any sugestions on mods or diff swaps?

if you really get off road that often...you'd probably be happier with axles from a explorer, they ran a beefier D35....then you could also upgrade to rear disc brakes

ya thats what i had in mind but i'm not sure how much work that would be cause this is a drive way build no shop involved but i talked to a couple guys and they said its pretty much a bolt in mod

front is a bolt in other than shortening the front driveshaft 1"

but it's somewhat rare to blow a D28 on 30's, even if you do, you'll still be able to drive home.

i did the d35 front swap in my gravel drivway with hand tools, took a afternoon the first time i did it

run it with the 30's and when you start breaking stuff left and right then upgrade.
