This is for sale in pittsburgh for 2100 on craigslist.

hahaha i used to scrap with a 1st gen 2.3l ranger... 1987 and we hauled 2000+ Lbs every single night and that little four banger held its own. so i beleive a 2.9 or 3.0 or 4.0 i beleive it could haul alot.

Little late with the reply I know, but I just had to add my 2 cents. My stock 2.9L Ranger with 350 000km blew the TFI, so it's unplugged and the truck's in base timing mode (ie. not so powerful). And I was still able to haul 1/2 ton of used oil in the back, with a 4x4 Jeep Comanche flat towed behind almost 3 hours through very steep roads only having to down shift a couple times.

Never under estimate a 2.9L.
You might not be able to drag race with a load, but you'd be hard pressed to stop it.

That things been on there for sale for over 2 years.

if he wanted 1000 or less i would take it

He only wants a grand for it now and you get a free load of wood

thats hard on the exhaust valves, just to let you know

From the sounds of his current add this truck has had a very rough life. It needs ball joints and all kinds of steering parts as well as springs, and shackles, hangers, and misc other parts before inspection.
