Howdy folks. Dave here. Gotta a question regarding FR Diesels and swap. The heads on the 2.2 seem a little light. Had 2 heads from different engines and both cracked around the water jacket area. Question is this. Is it possible to place a 2.5 diesel in place of the 2.2 or 2.3? Is going to be PITA? Without spending a fortune to get the heads fixed, seemed easier to swap but don't know.:dunno:

It would be easier to put a newer 2.3 in it.Alot of brackets, fuel system and different componets in the diesel. If you had a diesel truck to pull the stuff from ,wouldn't be bad.Not a 2.2,it is a 2.0 and a 2.3.You can use a 2.3 up to a 94,I would update the dist.and intake, carb.

He's talking about a diesel. They don't have carb's or distributors :D

Unfortunately I have no other information to add :sad::sad:
