im rebuilding the motor on my ranger and im lifted 4 inches on 31s and im thinking about going to 33s in a few years. should i replace the stock clutch with a good quality stock replacement or should i step up to a "stage two" clutch or will i be ok with a stock. if you have any opinions about stock clutch with either 31s or 33s let me know. thanks.

2-stage clutches are heavy, hard to push in, and meant for 400+ HP track cars.

Go get a 4.0 clutch, flywheel, and manual trans starter. You will pay less that a fancy 2-stage and get the extra grip and performance that you want.

i have a 3.0, an im mostly wondering if a high quality stock replacement will be sufficient?

Ok, I was looking at the B2 in your profile. I'm not sure how big a stock 3.0 clutch is. If it's 9" or up I'd guess you will probably be ok with a stock clutch.

You could always just keep the stock pressure plate, but upgrade the disc.

onething to consider with the heavy duty clutches is it will tax the hydro system that much faster, and its its a older truck where the master mounts to the fire wall, it will crack the fire wall over time.

'Ive never had problems with mid grade clutch discs.

are you having problems with the disc slipping from so much power or traction?.......if not....stick with a factory type of clutch.

He's not having problems now, he's worried about when he goes up to the 33" tires.
