Will a Ranger cab bolt onto an explorer frame? Lets say a '92 cab onto a '92 explorer. I'm guessing at least the radiator support and first mount will fit.

What's your intent?

It can be made to fit, but be aware that the Explorer frame is at least wider in the rear than a Ranger, as the Ranger leaf springs mount ourside the frame & Explorer's mount under the frame, but are a direct swap onto a Ranger.

I'm just not sure if the Explorer frame is the same wideth front to back or it's the same wideth as Ranger at front and widens out towards the rear.

chester

and explanger got a ranger bed eventually 2

The idea is to maybe take a two door explorer chassis and put on a standard ranger cab with a shortened ranger short bed. I may just go with a standard short bed ranger (a lot easier I guess) but the idea of the shorter ex chassis and having something different is appealing. Shortening the Ranger frame is another option.
2 door ex - 102" wheelbase
short bed ranger - 108" wheelbase
4 door ex - 112" wheelbase (I've got this chassis already)
Bronco II - 94" wheelbase (my current toy)
The 6" difference between the 2 door ex and the short bed ranger may not seem like a lot but I think it'll really change the feel and look of the truck.
Shortening the ranger frame may be easier but the donor ranger would likely also be a 2WD (4 cylinder) which means also swapping in 4WD components. At this point I'm just trying to put together ideas and see what makes sense. This would be for a street truck, something that looks nice, not an off-road beater. Check out my Bronco II and you'll see I've got the skills to do it and I've also shortened frames in the past on heavier trucks.
