ok so im thinking bout buying an early 80's model f150 sittin on 38's and was wanting to know how much trouble it would be to put an 87 ranger single cab and bed on the f150 frame

first off, did ya measure the wheelbases of both trucks......the F150 is way longer than the Ranger.....

so, unless ya shorten the F150 frame i don't see how ya gonna get it to work

and with enough time and effort, anything is possible......

you may wanna get a full size Bronco as a base vehicle....have seen a Ranger body put on a Bronco frame before:icon_thumby:

i was thinkin just line the cab up with the front tires and the bed with the rear tires then extend the front of the bed to make up for the gap between the bed and the cab and then cut the excess frame off of the back

the ranger body works good on the f150 frame that what i used but the chassis was a 77. the longer wheelbase works good w/ bigger tires. the 38s should look good. i acually split the difference from front to rear

go to my profile and go to some of my first threads started theres a thread were we figured it out

pretty much took the ranger cab mounts and brackets and fabbed them on the fullsize frame. and the bed i just used spacers and bolted it up. as far as the runnin gear stick with the fullsize stuff- if i could choose between a 4 or 5speed i go with whichever has the best gear ratio. oh, just wanted to tell you i forgot that i moved the front forward 3 in.

If you haven't purchased the F150 yet and you have a buck or two to spend look for an older bronco chassis.
Shorter but the same width, and the Bronco will have a 9" rear and a D44 up front.
Now you have two options, cut and extend the frame to fit the original Ranger wheel base or cut the bed for a really short bed truck.

Just thinking out loud.
