ranger braking flex plates

There is a 94 ranger for sale locally that I might be interested in. One problem with it is that it has broken two flex plates after a trany rebuild. Owner said that it brakes from the center. To me it sounds like it might not be centered or clearance issue. I dont know much about autos. Only have one in my life. What do you guys think it could be? I have a BII that has a
M5OD in it and could swap that over with the pedals if nothing else.

Trash that automatic crap. if your B series is still working, don't take it apart. find another M5OD tranny and pedals, and swap 'em in.

Going to part out the BII. floor is rusted out, just too many issues with it

what year is the BII? if they match i'd say just go for the swap. but i'm also one of the most anti-automatic people you will meet lol.

1989 BII with a 4.0 out of 1994 ex, M5OD out of 94? ranger

so the BII has a '94 4.0 engine in it now? if thats the case then the tranny will def bolt to the ranger, as long as its the same engine lol.

If you can get rid of an auto do it manuals are better. In Ford trucks there way better.

does it have the little tin sheild between the tranny and engine? sounds like an issue like that or the first flexplate was cracked and nobody noticed as well as the second, that tin plate is thin but will cause issues if there is pressure against the flexplate, as in the torque converter putting pressure on it.

Went a drove the truck tonight. It runs good with no tick. The flex plate is craked and starting to brake. Has a vibration. Seemed to take a little more gas to get it moving than it should and it shifted into second kinda hard. Didnt have a lite with me to see if the dust shield was in place.
