Does a 2001 6ft Ranger box fit on a 1999 B series?
What if anything is different?
Thanks in advance

yes it will fit.

just make sure you get tail lights with it, they are different. not sure if the tailgate is interchangeable or not.

Sorry, quantum interference effect caused by the Mazda badges means the Universe will end if you try this.

What if he puts a Mazda bed liner in it? Will that make it better or worse? Or would that be the automotive equivalent of dividing by zero?

LOL the bed fits, other than having different wheel well lines there is no big deal.
Get the bed with tail lights since they are different, and the tailgate can be swapped, both tailgates are the same.

Rear bumpers are swappable as well, only the design changes.

yes it will fit as long as the bed lengths are the same, make sure you grab the tailights, the taillights are different. tailgate is the exact same except the ranger one has the indent for the ford logo.

what are you doing with the old bed?

That will get the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle involved making the result unpredictable. If he adds some Heisenberg Compensator to the gas tank the Mazda bed liner should keep the whole thing from blowing up though.

Or Seafoam. Seafoam should work if his local parts store doesn't stock Compensator.

That bedliner would be the automotive equivalent of putting a square peg in a round hole... :icon_twisted:

that picture must be photoshopped.
