I'm building my first ranger wheeler, and I'm excited. I've received a lot of criticism, but I'd like to see what happens with this.
I've got an '84 ranger body that I'm setting on an F-250 short bed frame. the frame is ready to go, with a 351 Cleveland, transmission is an NP435 with an NP205 Transfer case. A little different, but I'm thrilled nonetheless.
I'm keeping track of my progress on here, and I would love some input, advice, encouraging words, etc.
Let me know what you think!

Looks like a good project. Keep the pics coming...

So far, The body is on the frame. In the process now of making rear body mounts. Front have been made, as seen in two of the pictures. My body rubs right up against the steering box, can't even fit a piece of paper between them. but it looks like everything is going to work well. Fan was too far out to leave it how it was, so my plan is to put in an electric fan, put the radiator in the back.
In the process of placing the body on the frame, there was very minor damage done to the front of the truck, but I'm not worried. I want a new grill anyway.

Looks awesome. I thought about doing something similar with a BII and a shortened frame.

Looks really cool. I would bet you could mount one hell of a winch on the frame that sticks out. Would probably look like you custom made it that way. Keep the pictures coming.

I'm planning on putting a super sweet winch on! I've got the perfect gap for it!

Very nice...I was thinking of something like that too...but I need an automatic transmission...and not sure if I want to use that chasis...maybe an F150 would work...my BIL just scrapped one because of the rust...dang!

Update

Body mounts are on, and front axle is done. Had to swap it out to lower the truck just a couple inches, and it also moved the tires forward about 4 inches, so I'm more pleased with how it looks now. Probably going to keep the bed off and just make a flatbed. Haven't completely made up my mind yet. Now on to a roll cage and wiring the motor and we're set!:yahoo:
